It’s midyear, how will you finish the year?
“WALLA” It’s the end of the first half of the year. If you’re like most of us, you would be wondering where the past six months went. Do you get the feeling that there’s only 30 seconds in a minute? …..or is it that time seems to be moving faster than lighting?… That said, it behooves us to be more cognizant of the 1440 minutes we have in a day…., in short, we must ensure that every minute is wisely and productively expended.
We are at the halfway mark of the calendar year 2017, where are you with your goals?…… Have you done a gap analysis? If not,… do you think it’s time to do one?
In this rapidly changing global economy where long-term is no longer five years but more like 5 months or May I dare say 3 months, 2017 thus far has proven to be quite an exciting and challenging year marred by uncertainties both locally and globally. We, therefore, must look internally at ourselves and our businesses and develop strong survival strategies. It has to be business not as usual.
If you would endeavor to predict what global and local economies will look like on December 31, 2017, you would need to be a guru or even physic in order to make your prediction. This thought brings me back to the 1440 minutes, let us execute each day making the best possible decisions we can with the information we currently have. Be prepared for barriers which we should see not as stumbling blocks,… instead, stepping stones.
The only options we have is to maintain the status quo or exceed expectations. My challenge to you is to embrace changes while maintaining your core values which should be unshaken because, in the final analysis, we are going to survive by maintaining our integrity, work harder, smarter, whilst recognizing that the only constant we have is change and avoiding it will be to our peril.
Let’s finish the year strong,… maintain your positivity and “Go For Goals”.
